'Receptionist' Overview

The Storacall 'Receptionist' offers intelligent call routing by spoken voice combining an auto attendant and voice activated speed dialler into one system that never takes lunch or holidays, is never ill and works all day with no breaks.

The system uses advanced natural language, speaker independent voice recognition technology, which analyses the basic elements of speech-phonemes to produce very high levels of recognition accuracy and an almost unbelievably lifelike quality.

The system uses this advanced intelligence to determine the callers requirement and then route the call to the appropriate extension or department.

Company employees can also use the system to have access to any customer or business contact.

Departments, Companies or Resources (e.g. conference rooms) as well as people can all be made available on the system. The 'Receptionist' supports synonyms such as 'Mr Smith', 'John Smith', 'Director of Sales', or 'the one who deals with sales'. It also automatically disambiguates between people with the same or similar names. For example if there are two people with the name John Smith, the system offers the caller a choice i.e. 'John Smith in Sales or John Smith in Development'.

Each person can be called at multiple locations, (home, mobile, desk, secretary). The system allows contact numbers to be available only on selective interfaces e.g. a personal mobile can be made available on your speed dial but not on auto-attendant.

System compatibility & installation

The design of the 'Receptionist' is modular therefore allowing new emerging technologies to be easily incorporated. The 'Receptionist' is telephony interface independent, supporting the major primary ISDN protocols and analogue connections. It does not require any CTI interface, as the system is switch/PBX independent. The system also supports existing voicemail integration. Therefore your investment in your existing telecoms infrastructure is secure.

Using Industry standard Information technology, the Storacall 'Receptionist' can connect with any telephone system via any make of PBX, using either DASS, DPNSS, EuroISDN or QSig digital protocols, or an analogue connection. If you have a Virtual Private network, then the Storacall 'Receptionist' is available to all nodes and users on the network.

During installation, contact names can be easily imported from your existing corporate database in a CSV file. Again Storacall can offer a Lists of Names Conversion Service. This service includes data cleansing, formatting and the importation of the contact names for you.

Initially the 'Receptionist' is supplied with all system prompts recorded by a professional recording artist. To keep your prompts up to date following changes or additions to your directory the 'Receptionist' comes with a comprehensive easy to use recording tool or for consistent professional recordings Storacall or our recording service partners can offer an ongoing recording service.

In the absence of a recorded prompt being available to the 'Receptionist', the 'Receptionist' uses advanced text to speech technology to enable you to update your directory instantly. A key feature of the 'Receptionist' is that it is speaker independent and will therefore recognise any voice regardless of accent or dialect.

For digital connection to the PBX, the 'Receptionist' supports route optimisation and path replacement, ensuring that your phone lines are never tied up for longer than necessary by the 'Receptionist'. The 'Receptionist' system also supports any least cost routing enabled on you PBX.
