DodgeBox Overview

The DodgeBox is a software module in the Storacall UltraVox system. The DodgeBox can run as a stand-alone automated attendant system or integrated with other UltraVox modules to provide a complete Call Processing Solution. The UltraVox will connect to virtually any telephone system.

Automated Attendant

The DodgeBox Automated Attendant module allows callers to route their calls directly to particular extensions or departments without having to speak to an operator. The DodgeBox acts as an 'automatic operator' and can relieve the pressure on operator staff. It is of particular benefit when a large proportion of calls are from regular callers, or when calls need to be directed outside the hours when the switchboard is manned.

Flexible Access Methods

The DodgeBox module may be set up so that callers knowing the extension number may dial it directly. Alternatively, callers may select particular personnel or departments from a multi-level menu structure, or from a flexible list. The DodgeBox will be configured to the exact needs of the organisation.

 

As standard, callers can use the keys on any tone-dialling telephone to access menu options, or they may select using positive voice detection. Optional UltraVox modules allow callers to use spoken digits or older 'rotary' style telephones.

Optional Contact Points

The DodgeBox may not only divert callers to local extensions, but may also connect them to remote extensions via a network or Centrex service, or to mobiles or other numbers, such as home. This may either use the facilities of the connected phone system or the UltraVox's integrated trunk-connect module.

DDI Alternative

DDI, or 'Direct Inward Dial' allocates a different telephone number to each extension. The DodgeBox provides DDI type facilities at a lower cost and with the added benefit of a spoken directory for callers not aware of their contact's number.

UltraVox

The Automated Attendant is one of the most frequently used call processing facilities. The modular structure of the UltraVox means that the DodgeBox may be installed with minimal configuration and investment as a stepping stone towards a fully configured call processing system. The DodgeBox will integrate fully with all UltraVox modules. As an example, the VoxMail Voice Mail will allow callers to have the option of leaving a message when an extension is unanswered or busy.
